Love the pants! Held up great all day while hunting in the rain and walking through the wet grass. Only complaint I have, and it is because I’m accustomed to it in other pants, is I wish there was a stretchy waistband. It just makes things feel a little bit more comfortable moving wise, but other than that, these are some of the best upland pants I’ve ever worn.

I was skeptical of something claiming to be briar proof while being stretchy… but I’m a skeptic no more. Just finished the first pheasant hunt of the year. 15 miles of hard walking in 3 days, through all kinds of brush. This is the first year in a long time I haven’t been stabbed by thorns and briars, and my legs haven’t been as fatigued as they were with denim based brush pants. Encountered rain and frost, no issues with the DWR treatment. When it got hot, the size zip vents in the legs were wonderful. Pocket layout is good, but I tend not to pack a lot in pockets anyhow. 3 days of hard walking and they don’t smell. They still look brand new.

I’ve been wearing upland pants, in one form or another , for 57 years. Your product is the best to date. I appreciate the lightweight durability that has made the unseasonably warm start to the season bearable . My favorite feature is the stretch fabric. Nice job!

The Chief Upland pants were my first purchase, first test drive of the brand and I was left impressed. I figured a north Wisconsin Ruffed Grouse hunt would be a fitting test and the pants did not disappoint. Fit was great, stood up to the tests of the grouse woods and have quickly become a favorite.

Super Nice Pants!! I have the Vest and love it! I am looking forward to using the pants this weekend in SD. The features are very nice and they are more comfortable and have a slightly looser fit (better) than my Pyke Dakotas. They seem to be built just as durable and they look better too! Can't wait to see more Colorways. Hopefully Olive, Green or Bourbon Brown!
Only suggestion is Add some zippers on the legs so they are easier to get over snake or muck boots then they would be perfect!!

I have worn these pants on 3 hunts and covered over 10 miles in these in all kinds of cover including thick cattails and thick willow patches. At first they felt a little tight but it didn’t take long to break them in and they fit great! The pockets are a little tight but my IPhone fits fine and it feels secure. I love the zippered back pockets and the side vents and the fit is perfect even with a baselayer underneath. I am 6’0 and the 32x31 fit great. The noise some reviews have mentioned are not an issue and it’s consistent with any other brush pant I’ve worn. They feel very athletic and I haven’t had any issues. I’ll put these against any upland style pant out there!

Pants are well laid out with pockets, plus the zippers lay flat to minimize catching on things. Material is very tough for the weight! Comfy to wear all day. I only have 3 days of grouse hunting north central Minnesota on them, but was a total of 31 miles most of which was bush whacking. Slight issue with threads coming out in the crotch just below the zipper and above the gusset.. Not a huge surprise to me seeing as my Sitka grinder pants have done the same in the past. Will have to mend before the next outing.

Great pants and very well built, zippered pockets are a great design and fit is fantastic. Absolutely no complaints in relation to design or quality. The only negative comment I have is that for early season pants they do not seem to breath very well and make an audible "swishing" sound when walking because of the fabric type. Also, these are definitely not the pants you want if you are busting through heavy cover or briars, but they are great for fields and more open terrain. Would buy again.

Nice pants. I have been wearing them in northern Wi and have no issues. With this warmer weather the side vents are great.

The pants look and feel good. Have not actually worn them hunting yet. The pants definitely seem to run large. I normally wear 42/34 in regular jeans. I ordered the 40/34 since all reviews said they were very stretchy but I feel that the 38/34 would maybe fit better

Wore around the house and training field today and hands down the best fitting and most comfortable pair of field pants I own. These pants feel very durable and have great zipper pocket placement. Both me and the pup love these pants. I will be ordering all of my upland gear from Chief Upland in the future!

I recently bought the upland briar pants and had a great day grouse hunting in them. They held up great through thick brush and they were comfortable all day long. I had a small issue with one of the zippers and I reached out to Chief Upland customer service for help. They responded in under a day and fixed the situation. I will be buying from them again - great products and great service go a long way!

Pre-ordered these at Pheasant Fest and they came in time for our early season MT prairie hunting trip! Worked great and loved zip pockets and leg vents. True to size and no to hot despite temps hitting 85 by 10 am.

It is not bird season here, but I wore the light-med pants today at the sporting clays range on a work project. They are very comfortable and impressively lightweight. The zippered pockets are nice for the phone and wallet.
I have not tried the zippered vents yet.
I think they will work great for the early pheasant season. The big question is how they deflect the Sonoran desert catclaw when I go after Gambles quail this fall.

The features on these pants are awesome and I've tried them all. The cordera protection on the front panel is great without being too stiff. The knife slide pocket reinforcements on both sides are great as I carry mine on the left and most only are on the right. It has great vents to open on hot days and the hidden cargo type zip pants do a great job. I was in between sizes and the website guided to order up. That pair fell down to my ankles without hesitation. Jake easily exchanged my 38s for 36s and they were great. Not tight at all. I will likely order a second pair, but may wait for another color to provide some variety. Thx.

I do upland hunt for pheasant but I wanted to put these pants to the test, so I took them into the Sierra Nevadas for a back country scouting trip. I did this because rain and thunderstorms were expected and I wanted to test the waterproofing on the front of the pants for when I was sitting and glassing for periods of time. These pants definitely held up! Very comfortable (about 15 miles on them) through thick brush, Rocky Mountain sides and general outdoor punishment. They kept me dry, the venting was great to have, tons of pockets for all my needs and they dried super quick too (along the back from me sweating carrying 40lb pack for 5 miles) These will probably replace my Kuiu attacks for hunting and will also be my only upland pants I use moving forward. Sizing was also spot on. Very well designed pant with all consumer activities and needs kept in mind. Well done C.U.!

Just receiced my Upland Pants from my pre order in March. They look and feel amazing. I have no doubt they will perform amazing in th field. Finally an upland hunting pant that has a waterproof membrane in the leg area to shed the water of early morning hunts.
Thank You Jake for developing a great product cant wait to try them out. I already have a Chief Upland Vest and Love it. This makes upland huning so much more enjoyable. If you need an ambasator I'd be more than willing you have great gear. Keep up the great work.
