I know you can’t see the Chief Upland pants on this picture. But this is my son pictured here, I bought he and I both a pair. And we both wore them this past week under our waterfowl bins as well as by themselves when scouting and refueling ice eater generators in Kansas. For the past 2 weeks we’ve been in a hard freeze up with - lows and maybe the 20’s during the day. And with the wind blowing real feels were like single digits to the negatives. But these pants worked flawlessly, we stayed dry inside and out as well as warm. I know these will be great upland pants if they’ve performed this well for waterfowl in these conditions. Thanks guys for a great product, definitely a warm and dry satisfied customer.

I bought a pair of Uplander Brush Pants Coyote Brown (Early-Mid Season) & a pair of Element Brush Pants Coyote Brown (Mid-Late Season). I'm 6'2" & 280 and wear a 42" waist in blue jeans but that size was way too big in these brush pants. Exchanged them for a 40" waist and the result was a good fit. The Element Brush Pants were a bit tighter in the seat than the Uplander Brush Pants, probably due to the extra material lining the pants but they still fit and were comfortable. Wore the Element pants partridge hunting and really liked how they performed on a beautiful 28° F day. The finish on both pairs is excellent with no hanging strings or shoddy seams. I think they will hold up well.

Jake, thank you for all your help and information.
I did a three day hunt out of Wickenburg Arizona this weekend for quail. Late season, the dumb ones are already dead but we found some birds and I put my new vest to a pretty extensive test.
The vest is very well-made and extremely flexible.
I walked close to 10 miles each day over hill and over dale following my dogs. First and foremost, I have to tell you that my Chief Upland over and under vest is one of the most comfortable pieces of equipment I’ve ever worn. I adapted to it quickly and felt comfortable shooting right from the get-go.
At first, I must admit, I thought the side clips were a somewhat in elegant solution, but it turns out they’re very functional. I really didn’t ever have to unclip them, since I was only hunting quail.
I carry some diverse and extensive equipment in the back portion, including a porcupine jig, hemostats, a small first aid kit, wipes, a short length of rope, energy bars, and some extra duct tape + +. It all fit well, and were carried comfortably.
The water bottle holders are the best that I’ve encountered. The side pouches I bought one of each, but I actually like the one without the zipper better, I know that’s just personal preference.
I have one small negative comment, and you might feel that this is a little nitpicky. The interior shell holder loops in both side pouches are built for 12 gauge shells. In my set up in the right hand pouch. I carry four 20 gauge double OO buck shells, these are for coyotes and Javelina, which are prevalent in Arizona. In my left hand pouch I carry four 20 gauge slugs, these are for bears and wolves on the northern plains. This weekend I almost loaded a buckshot shell into my gun. One 20 gauge OO buck shell pushed all the way through the interior shell loop. I don’t know how effective this would’ve been shooting quail.
When I get back home, I will add some duct tape to the inside of the shell loops and I’m sure that will solve the problem the oversize issue.
I may be unique, though I doubt it, in that I only shoot a 20 gauge or a 28 gauge for upland birds.
Overall, I am very pleased. As someone who hunts upland birds over 50 days a year, I know what I like and I like my Chief Upland vest very much. It’s a winner!
As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for 50 years, I also appreciate the personal communication and service.

It's a great upland vest. The fit and attention to detail are top notch. It's very very well built and the thought process in design is very evident.
It is going to become a much treasured and vital piece of kit.

Got a nice hat that I wear to and from hunting

Best I've ever had. I e used on a couple of deer hunts and a few rabbit hunts. Great for all day stalking. Love the weight on my hips, instead of my shoulders! The only thing I regret is not buying their bags. I bought some MOLLE bags and attached but the Chief bags would have been the way to go. Overall, top notch piece of kit!
