I think the flip open ammo pouch is a must for the vest. The magnetic closure is excellent for keeping ammo and gloves secure. Very well made and designed.

Replacing my old vest and one reason is because shell pockets wearing out. The new vest with ammo pouch works great. Even crawling under a fence.

The shell pouches are the best. The magnetic pocket covers are great. Very strong so you aren't spilling shells and other contents out every time you lean over. I have a vest from another maker, and I quit using it after trying to add extra Velcro and snaps myself to keep the pockets closed. The magnets are strong and will hold tight. My only advice is to take the exterior shell holders off if you are a grouse hunter. They will peel off as you walk through thick cover and you will lose them along with any shells you have in the holders. Ask me how I know. They would be great for pheasant hunting in open fields or corn fields, but for the grouse woods, take them off and save them for another type of hunt.

I added this attachment to a final rise vest for fast access to shells in a more compact pouch. Other pouches I had were too deep, zippered or used velcro. I like that this is waterproof, material is nice and thick so it retains shape well and the magnetic close is great. We have a lot of hard creek crossings where I hunt and I haven’t lost any shells. It does hold a full box if you need that many or carry extras for your buddies that don’t plan ahead. There are a few items I would personally change. I don’t see the value of the velcro 3-shell loop on the front. Velcro loves to catch grass seed and the shell loops are hard to get 12 gauge shells into. My assumption is that this would be for a really quick shell grab, but the pouch is already really fast to access so I don’t see it as adding any value. The shell loops on the inside are also pretty tight, and I think I would really only use those for a choke tube or 2. The product I would love to see is almost the exact same, but with the same dimensions as a box of shells so that shells can be stacked like they are in a box and do away with the velcro on the front. Overall a great product and I would suggest it to a friend looking for the best molle quick-grab shell pouch.

I have both the quick grab pouch and the waterproof storage pouch. The quick grab is definitely my go to. The magnetic closure is solid, positive and strong. You have no doubt it’s closed even without looking. I’ve actually had it grab a shell out of my hand (it was cold and I had on gloves…)by the primer it’s so strong. The 10 shell loops inside plus the gusset on the bottom will easily hold at least a box of shells. I really like the way it lays flatter against your side compared the waterproof bag which tends to hang out a bit more than I personally like. I still use it around the back for less needed items. Positively can’t go wrong with a couple of these quick grab bags on your setup.

This is a great pack! My fiance got me this for Christmas and I love it. Everything works great and there are multiple ways to customize both the functionality and fit. I've only used it part of a season, but looking forward to many more with this set up.
