Your navel is typically the most critical measurement for ideal ergonomics and load-carrying.

Small/Medium - Measurement at navel (not waist size) of under 39"
Large/XL - Measurement at navel (not waist size) of 39" to 44"
2XL & Up - Measurement at navel (not waist size) of 45" and up
