Went out with a group of friends pheasant hunting, but I was only one with dogs so at one point I had 6 pheasants in the back. And while it was warm because of the birds it never felt extremely heavy. The material seems very durable, and the vest is very adjustable. The two reasons I looked towards Chief Upland did not disappoint. Being able to put the different pouches wherever is incredible, and the front loading of the birds is very convenient, I loaded most of the birds without having to put my gun down, no struggling to get around the back to load. I had bought a cheaper vest (around $150). Took it on my last ND hunt right before Thanksgiving, and absolutely destroyed it. Tore the shell pockets , bird pouches started tearing out from carrying pheasants, water pouches were far back and the material was such that they wouldn't stay open for you to get the water bottles in even if you got your arm that far back. That was only 3 days of hunting. I do not think that it can be overstated that the versatility of the Chief Upland vest will help any novice or experienced hunter reach whatever goals they have. I have only owned a couple other vests but from some one who has been chasing birds for 30 years I'm so glad I found this one.
I also train with my dogs throughout the year and I believe putting the bumpers in the sides (bird pocket) will work well. Looking forward to using the vest year 'round.

Very well made and fits well.

The best upland vest I have ever seen and owned. Extreme versatility. I can use my hydration bladder and rear pouches for all day gear and food for Mountain Quail hunting in the high country. I use the zippered pouch for my Insulin. Whether I am just a short distance from the vehicle in fields, on hillsides Chukar hunting or hiking all day in the backcountry, everything about this vest is top notch. Thanks, Jake for your awesome innovation.

With the front load opened, walking through corn allows corn leaves to fall in vest opening. Same with cattail fuzz.
The vest is well made, but not ideal for walking corn rows or cattails.

Very well built vest with accessories that are exactly what you want, and where you want them!!!

I have "made do" with whatever vest I had for a LOT of years, so spending a considerable chunk of $ on a vest was a big step for me. My first reaction out of the box was that wow - it's kind of heavy... But - after spending some time arranging the different components and actually hiking with it in the woods, I am very happy. Yes, it weighs more than my old vest, but I can take so much more gear, I can organize my stuff so it's handy, and the weight falls on my hips instead of back. Quality is great and a great design. Thanks!

Great upland vest so far I’m very happy with it. Well made with pride and thought of use. Thank you Jake for engineering this great vest.

The best small game bag I have ever used No problem 6 squirrels in C the bag

I love the vest as it distributes all of the weight evenly. I especially like to carry my water bladder High as possible between my shoulder blades. Since I water my dogs with the bladder hose, I would suggest hose openings to allow it to route down and through the Vest to the dog. I used the hose clip on my waist to hold the hose while hunting. Then unclip to water my dogs. Same idea my original Quilomene Montana Vest from decades ago. That Vest during early season allowed the use of two water bladders and routes down through the Vest for dogs.

This is the best hunting vest ever. Helps with hunting with my GSP. It is a must buy.

So far I’ve only used my vest 6 days but is clearly the best hunting vest I’ve owned. Currently hunting pheasant in South Dakota and getting comments from people I’m hunting with

I love the total adjustability and durability of this vest. I just received it and set it up. I plan on wearing it to some preseason practice sessions to see how I like the position of the pouches. I ordered it with two quick grab ammo pouches, but the next day decided I would like one of the waterproof pouches instead. Emailed Chief Upland to see if that was possible since my order hadn’t shipped yet. Got a prompt response from Jake telling me that was no problem. Solid product from a solid dude.

Easily the best quality turkey vest I have ever owned. Would really liked to have seen some Mossy Oak Bottomland blended in with it, but the main thing the vest is missing is a high quality seat. Still giving 5⭐️s because of the quality alone.

I haven't used it as an upland vest as of yet but it worked out great as a turkey hunting vest

A great vest for getting outside and hunting just about everything. I've taken it hunting for squirrels and I'm looking forward to turkey hunting with the turkey seat. It's been great for taking my dog out and training him as well. The attachments allow you to take what you need and nothing you don't.

I just opened and setup my all-in bundle. I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of this vest and how well thought out everything is. Even the flaps on the pouches made me impressed. I would have been happy with just what was payed for, but to get all the stickers, hand written thank you note and the travel mug on top of it blew me away. I am an extremely happy and will be talking about the vest and this whole experience with all my hunting buddies.

The Chief Upland Over/Under hunting vest is the perfect piece of gear for the combined duck and pheasant that I do, in Western Montana. The durability of the vest and ammo boxes can withstand heavy “brush busting” and the ammo boxes keep shells secure and dry while wading creeks and moving through wet and snowy sloughs. This is a lifetime hunting vest.

Outstanding product! Functional, comfortable, stylish, and customizable.
Oh, and it’s durable. I been using it pretty hard for about a month. No problems at all.
Lastly, its suuuuuper easy to clean out feathers and blood. Just turn it inside out, hang it up, and hose it down. Dries within 10 min.
Don’t buy a cheap vest. Buy this one and be set for life.

Absolutely nothing short of amazing! This vest blew away my expectations. I am using two of the waterproof ammo pouches and the water bottle pouch. Currently I am using the vest for saddle hunting and it holds all my gear perfectly. It would be awesome to see a binocular case that would attach to the front of the vest.

I’ve taken it out for doves, Ruff/Blue grouse And sage grouse, Love the quality the set up! I can configured exactly like I want it!!

Awesome vest and hydration setup....best I've ever run, in fact!
The vest fit awesome, wore great, had good breatability, and seems durable. Put roughly 15 miles on in the NE Sandhills chasing sharptails on it's maiden trip.
Zero complaints and the hydration system is setup brilliantly!

This is my second chief upland vest. I have the blaze orange that I use for hunting and guiding upland hunts on game farms. Running multiple dogs at one time requires special gear to keep everything organized. I love the flexibility of these vests with the modular additions. I then bought a second in earth tone just for dog training to outfit with the different attachments needed for training. The camel pack portion of the vest is a must for training during the dog days of summer.

Great fit, comfortable, easy access, perfect for all types activities.

Have been putting this through its paces this Spring and am very impressed. Love the flexibility and so far all of the materials and construction is very solid.
