A Cause Close to Our Heart: Helping Another Bird Dog Named Chief
0 Comments
*PLEASE NOTE: The Chief here is NOT our Chief. It happens to be another Chief from the same breeder.*
My Friends,
As I’ve said many times before, the #ChiefUplanders community is a force for good. One of our core values is: Give. When I first heard about this situation, right away I thought – we can help.
In our Uplanders community, dogs aren’t just part of the hunt, they’re family.
Please help us in supporting Chief, a 3-year-old black lab, who’s currently back with his original breeder, Rangerwood Kennels, and in need of both adoption and expensive surgery. Chief was abandoned, found underweight and with facial injuries. He needs a special surgery related to a salivary gland as he has pooling in his neck, a condition that can be caused by trauma or blockage.
They’ve received estimates for this procedure of $5000-$7000 for surgery and post-op care. Rangerwood is raising funds to cover these costs, so Chief’s eventual adopter won’t bear the full burden.
Rangerwood has launched a GoFundMe campaign to try and raise $7,000 for his treatment/care.
This story hits close to home. We personally have two dogs from Rangerwood, including one also named Chief, the goodest boy that inspired our brand. While we wish we could help every situation, this one feels like family.
So here’s what we’re doing:
• We’re donating 10% of all purchases right now directly to Chief’s medical fund. It’s a way to make your dollars go further while supporting a dog who deserves to live an amazing life.
• We’re also promoting the GoFundMe page so you can donate directly.
Chief Uplanders community…whether you shop with us or donate directly, your support means the world to us, to Rangerwood Kennels, and most importantly, to Chief.
