Honestly one of the best vest systems on the market. The versatility is what makes it so great. You can customize it to what you need, fit it to the clothes you’re wearing, have the ability to pack it for longer days in the field. The weight distribution is good when loaded down with birds. I like the option to add the hydration pack. I’ve had several other upland vest systems and this tops all of them.

I've tried a couple of different vest systems over the years, and I can say that I have found my last vest.
This vest has everything I want: lightweight, durable, modular, and has water carrying ability. I mainly hunt quail in Nevada, and this vest stands up prickly vegetation, other vests I've tried get snagged and torn. The ability to add a hydration pouch is a necessity during the early season.
I liked the vest so much that I have purchased another to raffle off during my Quail Forever local chapter's annual banquet. The more people that I can introduce to this vest the better.

Had to switch from my traditional vest. It was entirely too hot. I didn't want to sacrifice the front/side access to the back pouch though, and that's how I found chief upland. I love this vest. Fits well. Stays cool. Fully customizable. 10/10 would recommend...

Big fan of the modular system. It’s nice to be able to place the phone case and the shell pouches where I want them. I think the game bag could be a little larger - I say this because I usually carry a camera too. For just a couple quail or woodcock the bag is fine. But once I throw a camera in there and some birds it does get crowded. Still a big fan so far and look forward to testing in Michigan next week!

Jake and Kristen were first class to work with and this vest is for the serious bird hunters. I was able to use it for the first time in the field at Flint Oak in Kansas last week and it did not disappoint. I was able to configure the system exactly the way that I wanted and worked for me. Plenty of room for extra ammo, water for the dogs and huge game pocket for the birds. This vest is by far better than any other I've previously owned!

I was thrilled to receive my Upland over/under upland vest bundle. I was able to customize all of the accessories to fit my comfort and my hunting situation. I wore it on my first quail hunt and was very pleased. The vest allowed me to carry more shells than I needed. We killed 19 birds on my first hunt and all birds fit nicely in the vest with more room leftover. The vest has room for a water bladder (which I purchased) that provides water for myself. It also came with a water bottle to provide water for my dog. I strongly recommend the Upland over/under vest bundle to all hunters. It is a little pricey, but it is worth every penny!

Very well made kit. Molle system allows for perfect placement of pouches. I’m 6’3” and 34” waist. Went with larger size so molle wings would fully cover waist. Allows for one layer easier as well. Regular size fit my wife similarly(wings cover fully around waist with room for layering)

I pre ordered the S-XL- when it came in it was a bit small for my brawny self. I got hold of Kristen in the office and ordered one of the 2XL that was just about to be released. I just received the 2XL today and put all the accessories on it. So glad I didn't press my luck with the smaller size, this one will be perfect for our cold weather hunts.
The vest has tons of adjustability, I'm sure I'll need to make adjustments once I figure out what works best and where, but at least I have the option now as opposed to the old school one size fits all vest I have used for years.

I put in 100s of miles on the PCT and other trails every year. Having the right equipment is extremely important. The only thing I would critique would be possibly adding load lifters. Yes the chief has a chest and hip straps. If you are carrying a bunch of rooster, plus gear and you might have to pack out a dog. Having load lifters would help adjust the weight more forward instead of possibly pulling you back.

The vest I got a few weeks ago had one minor stitching problem in the top belt slot. Jake at Chief Upland swapped out my vest in juts a couple days for a brand new one. These vests are incredibly well made and well designed! They are highly configurable and comfortable to wear.
I took it out pheasant hunting in Minnesota last week. I still need to play around with how I personalize where I put all the accessories, but it was very comfortable hunting all day with my black labs. I have already ordered another quick access shell pocket as I prefer that to the waterproof zipper pocket.
After 30 years of pheasant/grouse hunting and a closet full of lesser vests (Bird-n-Lite, Cabelas, Beretta, Gander Mountians, etc.) I HIGHLY recommend this vest!!

Everything fits great! Customer service was also excellent. When I received my bundle there was a damaged snap on one of the ammo pouches. I contacted Jake right and away and he had a replacement sent in the mail the very next day. Great product!

For someone who hunts pheasants, I was on the fence last season in 2020 getting the vest but went ahead and got it. The weight difference is amazing compared to the orange vest I got from cabelas many years ago. I can carry everything like have before and more, plus my neck and shoulders don’t suffer on long walks looking for pheasants. Awesome product and can’t wait to put it to use even more this coming season in 2021
